We were asked to do one of our designs using the orange brand color of a 150 year old non-profit.

I’ve included the original design with it’s modeling imagery so you can make the comparison below.

Orange glass is applied to a gather of clear and fused at 1,800 degrees.

The molten combination is tooled into the image of a solar flare or prominence.

After reheating to a flowing consistency the material is blown into a cherry wood mold then tooled into a splash configuration.

The design is modeled on solar mass ejections, flowing arches and roiling hot plasma.

Large solar flares release the energy equivalent of 160 Billion Megatons of TNT.

The most powerful flare ever observed occurred on September 1, 1859.

The flare was visible to the naked-eye and produced auroras as far south as Hawaii.

The enormous amount of energy released set telegraph systems on fire.
