A gather of clear molten glass is pulled from the crucible and a pick up of glass granules are applied over white glass powder.

The Nova features are then created by hand working the fused colors into a sweep around the orb before casing the design in crystal clear glass.

Nova are caused by the accretion of hydrogen onto the surface of a star, which ignites and starts nuclear fusion in a runaway manner.

The burning gas is thermally unstable and rapidly converts a large amount of the hydrogen into other heavier elements in a runaway reaction.

This process liberates an enormous amount of energy, blowing the remaining gases away from the stars surface while producing an extremely bright outburst of light.

There are approximately ninety Novae occurring in our galaxy every year. The really bright ones are visible with the naked eye and can last for twenty-nine days.
