Our Waterspouts incorporate light transmission, reflection and refraction in a single blown sculpture.

The technique produces designs with a nearly unlimited variety of images and viewing angles.

The designs are constructed in alternating layers of clear, opaque white and transparent glass colors.

Light is captured within the vase wall, which then refracts through the multiple layers producing a characteristic glow.

Light also reflects off a hidden white layer which transmits through the transparent colors brightening them.

Clear threads are then added for magnification and to produce the Star Sapphire effect called “Asterism” a common feature of the popular gemstones.
